Faroese artist Eivør has released her new album TUNGL through Nuclear Blast Records, arriving on 16 October alongside a new video for “Og Mánin Græt / And The Moon Cried”.
TUNGL takes its name from the Faroese word for moon. Across ten tracks, the album explores tenderness, heartache, love, loss and the changing emotional tides of life, continuing the atmospheric direction of her previous album Enn.
The new video was created by Gwenaël Akira. Eivør explains that the song draws on a childhood memory of looking at the moon and imagining why it appeared sad. Its visuals bring together raw emotion, nature and a dreamlike reality.
Eivør’s music crosses folk, rock, jazz, electronica and pop, with her Faroese roots running throughout. Her soundtrack work includes The Last Kingdom, God of War and God of War Ragnarök.
