Mothica has released new single “My Confession” through SharpTone Records, accompanied by a cinematic fantasy video directed by Micah Hamilton.
The LA-based singer, performer and visual artist, also known as McKenzie Ellis, continues the heavier direction explored on this year’s Somewhere In Between EP.
Ellis began the song as a stream-of-consciousness home recording before developing it with producer Elliot Polokoff and co-writer Trever Stewart. Its perspective shifts between fans, past relationships and addiction, centred on the difficulty of letting go of familiar pain.
The release follows her Somewhere In Between EP and its later lofi reinterpretation. Mothica is also set to support Of Mice & Men at California shows before touring the UK and Europe in early 2027.
