ZEAL H. Shares “Mahi” From Forthcoming Album Skiing The Gut

Newcastle songwriter ZEAL H. has released “Mahi”, a new single from her forthcoming album Skiing The Gut.

Blending nu-folk, experimental soul and jazz, the track explores heartbreak, releasing control and caring for one another through grief. Its title means work in Te Reo Māori.

The song opens with a field recording of bicycles riding home after a breakup conversation. The album was largely created across Australia and Aotearoa with engineer Yianni Adams.
