Band of Skulls have returned with “Bitter Dream”, out now via FLG, the rock and alternative imprint of Frontiers Label Group. The release marks the British rock band’s debut on the label and arrives with an official music video.

Featuring Iona Alven on vocals alongside Russell Marsden, the single explores persistent longing, melancholy and the possibility of finding light through new love. Marsden describes it as direct and heavy where it needs to be, while retaining the band’s unmistakable sound.

The new partnership with FLG opens another chapter for the Southampton outfit. Marsden says the band are focused on creating new music, strengthening their connection with fans and evolving while staying true to the sound listeners love.

Formed in 2004 as Fleeing New York, the group adopted the Band of Skulls name in 2008. Their debut album Baby Darling Doll Face Honey followed in 2009, introducing songs including “I Know What I Am” and “Death By Diamonds And Pearls”. Sweet Sour arrived in 2012, followed by the Nick Launay-produced Himalayan in 2014.

Their career has included touring with Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys, plus appearances at Glastonbury and Coachella. A recent Southampton homecoming show introduced a new line-up and offered an early taste of new music, with a deluxe box set celebrating the first three records also planned.
