THE CAT EMPIRE

THE CAT EMPIRE

HELLO HELLO!

It is rumoured that the reason The Cat Empireheadlines major festivals all over the world is because no band is brave enough to take the stage after them. Such is the power of their live show and world class musicianship, which sees their infectious, genre-embracing anthems sweep audiences into a dancing, singing frenzy of waving arms and smiling faces.

7 albums into to a stellar career, these 6 musicians originally hailing from Melbourne began as a word of mouth secret transported globally by backpackers, fast became an international touring juggernaut with legions of devotees at every stop. 2019 is no exception, with The Cat Empire taking music from their new album Stolen Diamonds along with some crowd favourites, out on the road.

Along for the ride this time are special guests not to be missed, Grace Barbe.

"The Cat Empire’s commitment to live music, showmanship, and their unstoppable energy and generosity as performers makes them a stand out whenever they take the stage". - Full 2019

The tour will see the band perform their biggest headline shows to date, hitting stages in Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

Produced by Tim Fitz and recorded at their own studio in Sydney, ‘New Songs For Old Problems’ heralds what has already been a massive 2019 for the band. Following 2 stellar singles, ‘Real Thing’ and ‘Beliefs & Prayers’, and a sold out Australian headline tour, Middle Kids jetted off to the US where they joined Local Natives on yet another run of sold out shows.

‘New Songs For Old Problems’ follows Middle Kids’ critically acclaimed debut long-player ‘Lost Friends’. With an ARIA top 10 chart result under their belt the band toured the world, including UK and European dates with Bloc Party and a sold out show at London’s Village Underground, with performances on several US TV shows including Conan, Jimmy Kimmel and The Late Late Show with James Corden.
The band were nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Rock Act and staked their claim as one of Australia’s most in demand live bands with full houses on their national album tour. They landed at #64 on triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2018 with ‘Mistake’, and picked up triple j’s prestigious Album of the Year award.

MONTAIGNE

MONTAIGNE

ARE YOU READY?

READY is not just Montaigne's most anthemic single to date, it's an anthem with something to say.

"I was so reluctant to take ownership of it at first was so far I've been the self deprecating tortured artist who's talked about my neurosis, whereas this song is 'I believe in myself' and 'I'm ready to utilise my abilities'. That's something I've been working hard to finesse.

"Putting a song out about self worth now, I'm in a place where I do think that much about myself, I work really hard every day to be really good at what I do, I've earned that confidence.”

There's also a Trojan Horse factor buried in the lyrics of Ready.

Sure it's booming pop song on the surface with that killer motivational chorus to remind yourself to stay on the grind ("I think I'm ready and I'm at the edge of the cliff, so let's begin..") and some seriously brilliant vocals. But in the song's final verse Montaigne sings "take me to the final stage, gimme gimme equal wage, I am no longer afraid.”

Secret Sounds Present
TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB 2019 AUSTRALIAN TOUR

First an indie sensation, then a stadium-slaying juggernaut, now experts in the subtle art of pop seduction, Irish heroes Two Door Cinema Club are celebrating the fevered reception to their just-dropped fourth record False Alarm with a string of unmissable appointments across Australia in November.

Described by Clash as “a game-changing record for the future of indie-rock”, False Alarm was released on June 21 and signals another chapter in the impressive re-birth of a band adored for their kinetic post-punk energy, world-weary lyricisms and recent forays into Kraftwerk-esque stylized synth-pop.

Led by the unmistakably sonorous vocals of Alex Trimble and backed with vigorous ease by Sam Halliday (bass) and Kevin Baird (drums), Two Door Cinema Club have been much- loved since they burst onto the landscape in 2009 with the release of their debut Tourist History.

Tracks from that record such as ‘Undercover Martyn’ and ‘What You Know’ were adopted as anthems of a nascent movement of UK based guitar acts catapulting themselves onto the worlds stage.

Bands like The Wombats and The Maccabees also lived inside this orbit and in the late-naughties, early-aughts it became impossible to escape the kind of razor-sharp songcraft that Trimble and his cohorts were unleashing.

THE TEMPER TRAP - 'Conditions' 10th Anniversary Tour

THE TEMPER TRAP - 'Conditions' 10th Anniversary Tour

WHAT A SWEET DISPOSITION!

It was the summer of 2009 and across the lands – near and afar – the sound of ‘Sweeeeeeeet Dis-PO-sition’ rang out – on radios, at festivals, in Hollywood films, and at sold out venues. It was the song that launched Melbourne band The Temper Trap onto the world stage and it was the first taste of their stunning debut album Conditions (which incidentally was released on June 19, 2009 – exactly 10 years ago today).

To celebrate the release of this now iconic album, The Temper Trap today confirmed that they’ll be undertaking a Conditions 10th Anniversary Tour, with intimate and limited shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. Kicking off in their home town of Melbourne on December 4, Australian fans will be treated to a night of absolute nostalgia as Conditions is played out live in its entirety.

In further exciting news, the band have confirmed the release of Conditions on limited edition white vinyl (out July 19 through Liberation Records), featuring a commemorative inner sleeve with imagery from the early days of the band’s career. Available for pre-orderfrom today, this special issue is a must-have for any vinyl collector.

The success of atmospheric anthem ‘Sweet Disposition’ is indisputable, with 5x Platinum sales in Australia, 3x Platinum sales in the UK (1 million+ sales), and Platinum sales in the United States (1 million+ sales). The single has, to date, clocked up more than 225 million streams on Spotify alone.

Follow up hit singles ‘Fader’ (2x Platinum) and ‘Love Lost’ (Platinum), firmly cemented the band’s rise, seeing the once unknown group debut with Conditions into the Top 10 on the ARIA charts and Top 30 in the UK. The album is now certified Double Platinum in Australia, Gold in the UK and has sold over 750,000 units globally. It went on to win ARIA Awards for Best Group and Most Popular Australian Single for ‘Sweet Disposition’ and the APRA Award for Song Of The Year in 2010, also receiving a 2011 nomination for Best International Breakthrough Artist at the UK Brit Awards.

Since Conditions launched The Temper Trap onto the global stage the band have moved overseas, started families, confirmed tour muso Joseph Greer as an official band member, performed on main stages of some of the biggest festivals in the world, released a further two #1 ARIA Albums, announced the departure of Lorenzo Sillitto from the band, and extensively toured around the world.

Don’t miss out on tickets to see The Temper Trap perform these very special Conditions shows. Frontier Members pre-sale starts June 25 and tickets go on sale from June 28.

HALESTORM w/ Black Stone Cherry

HALESTORM w/ Black Stone Cherry

VICIOUS!

Hard rock juggernaut HALESTORM are delighted to announce plans for their December 2019 Australian headline tour, presented by MJR Presents by arrangement with UTA. Recently in Australia for the second annual Download Festival Australia, they will return down under with special guests Black Stone Cherry to bring the ruckus!

Wall of Sound saw Halestorm at Download Festival Australia and proclaimed that "The four-piece from Pennsylvania brought the mayhem to Australia. Horns up were demanded by the self-described crazy chick on stage, with fans responding accordingly." and The Guardian praised the Download Festival show and Hale in particular, saying "Few voices in rock are as dynamic as Lzzy Hale’s. Her range takes lesser bands to the cleaners and then tosses them roadside from a 1972 Pontiac."

BASTILLE - Doom Days Tour, part 2

BASTILLE - Doom Days Tour, part 2

THIS WILL MAKE YOU HAPPIER!

Frontier Touring is over the moon to announce the return of British pop superstars Bastille to Australia and New Zealand at the beginning of next year on the Doom Days Tour, Part 2. Visiting Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth in January and February 2020, this tour will be fans’ first chance to hear the band’s third studio album Doom Days performed live.

Kicking off in Auckland on Thursday 23 January at Spark Arena, Bastille will head across the ditch to the Gold Coast on Saturday 25 January, taking on Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Monday 27 January, Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on Thursday 30 January and AEC Theatre in Adelaide on Sunday 2 February, before wrapping up the tour on Tuesday 4 February at Perth’s HBF Stadium.

Frontier Members will have early ticket access in their 24-hour pre-sale from Thursday 13 June (2pm AEST / 2pm NZST), before tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday 17 June (10am local time - AU shows / 12noon NZST).

Bastille’s third studio album Doom Days drops on Friday 14 June via EMI Music Australia (pre-order here). Featuring the massive first single ‘Quarter Past Midnight’, title track ‘Doom Days’, latest single ‘Joy’ (and its hilarious video clip), and the freshly-released new cut ‘Those Nights’, Doom Days is their most confident record yet. It tackles many of today’s most pressing political and social issues, while maintaining a personal angle throughout. Lyrically provocative and sonically diverse, it draws on influences in gospel, house, R&B, and more, as well as incorporating instrumentation inspired by their acclaimed ReOrchestrated tour.

“It’s a dance record but on our terms,” Dan says. “I’ve called it an apocalyptic party record but a party for us is all-nighters with your mates, not popping bottles in the club. It’s very British: rough around the edges.”

Recorded throughout 2018 in their South London studio, ‘One Eyed Jack’s’, by Dan Smith with bandmates Kyle Simmons, Will Farquarson and Chris ‘Woody’ Wood, plus producer Mark Crew, it sees the Grammy-nominated, Brit-winning four-piece stretch out and open-up like never before.

‘As pessimistic as it sounds, if this is the end of days we want to be in Bastille’s bunker, dancing to their anthemic stadium bangers until the bitter end.’ - MTV

Now, they’re bringing the party to us. Don’t miss your chance to see Doom Days in the flesh this summer - tickets will not last long.

Brisbane and Sydney fans: be quick to secure your tickets when they go on sale Friday 16 August via frontiertouring.com/billyidol.

Idol’s place in rock & roll history is one of legend: born William Michael Albert Broad in Middlesex, England, his tale is an extraordinary one. From a childhood spent between Long Island, NY and the UK of the ‘60s/‘70s, Idol’s brash, bold and searingly honest voice has been embraced by fans worldwide. Idol first took his moniker back in 1976 as part of seminal London band Generation X. Years of in-your-face attitude and fire are all across hits including ‘To Be A Lover’, ‘Mony Mony’, ‘Sweet Sixteen’, ‘Cradle Of Love’, ‘L.A. Woman’, ‘Don’t Need A Gun’, ‘Hot In The City’, ‘Save Me Now’... songs that instantly catapulted Idol on a meteoric rise to stardom. Read more about his colourful life here.

Idol’s best-selling 2014 autobiography, Dancing With Myself, offers the sort of eye-opening anecdotes full of drugs, sex, and rock ‘n’ roll that only Billy Idol can tell. 2014 also saw his first album of new material in 10 years, in album number eight, Kings & Queens of the Underground.

This year, fans can re-live Idol’s early years via the recently released special edition of Generation X, remastered from that album’s original ¼” production tapes. The special package features additional tracks and non-album singles, B-sides, 11 unreleased outtakes and more.

Idol is currently on the road in the USA alongside Bryan Adams, while October will see him perform a 10-date Las Vegas residency. As well as his trip down under, 2020 will also see Idol receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Joining Billy Idol on all dates is Melbourne rockers The Delta Riggs. The stomping four-piece are no strangers to Aussie rock fans, with their latest single ‘Reality’ released just last month. In September, the Delta Riggs will head to the UK for a series of shows in support of their upcoming fourth album Modern Pressure, due out Sept 6, before joining Idol on stage next Jan/Feb.

Also performing in Brisbane and Sydney are Sydney’s The Kids. Channelling their teenage angst into their music, The Kids’ rage fuelled rock embraces the punk and grunge greats of the past, with their inspirations ranging from Nirvana, Dead Kennedys and Bad Brains, to Generation X, Black Flag and the Sex Pistols. NEW YEARS DAY

NEW YEARS DAY

SHUT UP AND LISTEN!

'New Years Day, the U.S. metal five-piece lead by powerhouse Ash Costello, made their debut Aussie appearance last March, immediately setting about performing a killer set and forging plans for a return tour.

Most recently touring North America with the likes of Halestorm and In This Moment, New Years Day will kick off their debut headline tour in March 2020.

The Australian tour announcement comes less than three months since New Years Day unleashed their fourth and current studio album, Unbreakable. A follow up from 2015’s Malevolence, Costello announced the 12-track offering as a metal pop album to “reflect our renewed vibe and energy.”

Produced by Mitch Marlow (All That Remains, In This Moment) and Scott Stevens (Halestorm, Shinedown), Unbreakable is described as a dozen intense, boundary-melding songs that may touch on metal or goth, but are ultimately undeniable modern rock ‘n’ roll tunes, no-holds-barred, done the New Years Day way. The album is home to the ultra-melodic single “Shut Up” and the booming, ultra-dynamic “Skeletons” which surpassed one million worldwide streams. To date New Years Day has racked up more than 44 million U.S. streams and counting.

Ash Costello said “We are so thrilled to be coming back to Australia. We have only ever been once to play download festival and we couldn’t believe how incredible he crowd was! So we immediately all agreed, we had to come back as soon as we could! So we will see you March 2020
