Pop fans, clear a space in your Friday plans. Olivia Rodrigo has announced a remix of “expectations” featuring Chappell Roan, with the single and official music video arriving at 11 am AEDT on Friday 16 October via Interscope Records.
According to the media release supplied by Universal Music Australia, the collaboration marks Roan’s first feature and brings the two artists together with their mutual collaborator Daniel Nigro on production. The original track appears on Rodrigo’s third album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.
The official video will feature both Rodrigo and Roan and is directed by Bardia Zeinali. Both the track and video are due to land at the same time, giving fans a double helping when Friday rolls around.
Pre-save and physical editions
The remix is available to pre-save ahead of release. Limited-edition 7-inch vinyl, CD and cassette editions have also been announced, with pre-orders available through both artists’ stores.

The announcement follows Roan’s appearance at Rodrigo’s women-led Daisy Chain Fields festival in California in August. For now, the countdown is on: Friday morning is when fans will hear what the pair have created together.
