Canadian hardcore favourites Comeback Kid have released their eighth studio album, Chosen Hell, alongside the video for “Shedding Season”, featuring Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante.
Out now via SharpTone Records in the US and Dine Alone Records in Canada, the 11-track record was produced, mixed and mastered by Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio in New Jersey.
Singer Andrew Neufeld describes “Shedding Season” as a song about letting go of the stress, pain and harmful weight carried through life. His vocal exchange with LaPlante gives that decision a confrontational edge.
The album also features Incendiary’s Brendan Garrone on “Yesterday’s Gone”. Across its 11 songs, Chosen Hell combines the band’s hardcore foundation with modern metal, punk aggression and melodic moments.
Australian artist Callum Preston created the physical structure pictured on the album cover in Melbourne. The release continues a career spanning more than 25 years, following 2022’s Heavy Steps and the 2024 TROUBLE EP.
