Brisbane alternative rock four-piece SPEIRA have released their 11-track debut album, Arkomai. The record pairs grunge grit with melodic hooks, from the punch of “Flashback” and “Hole” to the upbeat groove of focus track “Hungover”.
Coco Scott, Jasper Longden, Max Harford and Darcy Weidman recorded the album at Yama Nui Studios on the Sunshine Coast with ARIA-winning producer and engineer Paulie Bromley. The band spent more than a year developing most of the songs, refining them in rehearsals and onstage. The title comes from the Greek word for “to begin”.
