The Pioneers Of Trip-Hop
Formed in Bristol in 1988 by Robert "3D" Del Naja and Grant "Daddy G" Marshall, Massive Attack helped create and define the trip-hop genre, blending hip-hop beats, atmospheric electronics, soul influences and dub-inspired basslines into a sound that would become instantly recognisable around the world. Their landmark albums Blue Lines, Protection and Mezzanine remain among the most acclaimed releases in modern music history.
Over their career, Massive Attack have sold more than 13 million albums worldwide while earning multiple international awards and critical acclaim. Their music continues to resonate with audiences decades after its release, making this long-awaited return a major event for Australian music fans.
First Australian Shows Since 2010
The upcoming run marks Massive Attack's first Australian performances since 2010, ending a 16-year wait for local fans. The tour follows the release of new music, including their collaboration with Tom Waits, Boots on the Ground, which arrived earlier this year.
Known for pairing their music with striking visual production and thought-provoking imagery, Massive Attack's live shows are widely regarded as immersive experiences that go far beyond a traditional concert.
Tickets
Frontier Touring members can access a presale beginning Thursday 4 June, with general public tickets on sale from Friday 5 June. Fans are encouraged to secure tickets early, as this is currently the band's only Australian headline run announced for 2026.
For fans of electronic music, alternative music and one of the most influential acts of the past three decades, Massive Attack's return is shaping up to be one of the most significant Australian tours of 2026.
